Saint Louis (IX) King of France - August 25 (Patron Saint of Carpenters & Hairdressers)
Louis was the son of Louis VIII of France. He was born at Poissy in 1214 and became king when he was 12 years old. He was pious and ruled with great justice. He founded a hospital for the poor, sick, and blind, known as the Quinze-Vingts. He died in 1270.
