Day 34 - 90 Day Bible Reading Challenge - Joshua 9 - 12 - The Great Adventure A Journey Through the Bible

Day 34

Joshua 9 - 12

Bible Time Period: Conquest and Judges
You led Israel triumphantly into the Promised Land.  They failed to teach their children, and instead did what was right in their own eyes:  Help me to keep my eyes on you and teach others what is truly right.

Prayer
Merciful and All-powerful Lord, at the celebration of every Eucharistic banquet we renew our covenant vows with our participation in the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Our celebration looks back in time to the night Jesus offered Himself “Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity” to His disciples at the Last Supper.  But our sacred meal also looks forward in time to our reunion with Jesus at His Second Advent and the promise of our participation in the sacred meal of the Lamb’s bridal supper in the heavenly Sanctuary.  We thank You, Lord, for calling us into covenant with You through Your beloved Son, and we ask You to Send Your Spirit to guide us in our study of Israel’s covenant renewal ceremony and communion meal on the slope of Mt. Ebal in Canaan.  We pray in the name of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.  (Joshua 8:30 – 35) (Agape Catholic Bible Study Joshua Lesson 5 )

Joshua Contents
The second phase of the war was in the southern regions of Canaan (chapter 10), and the third phase was in the north (chapter 11). Finally the Kings are defeated by Joshua (12:1-24).
