This weekend begins the Sundays known as Ordinary Time, a name that simply means the Sundays counted by "ordinal" numbers. As disciples of Christ, we know that none of our days are "ordinary," but are rather extra-ordinary opportunities to encounter Him every day. There are 34 weeks of "Ordinary Time" and most of them follow the Easter Season and bring us to Advent. Today begins a short season of five weeks that occur between Christmas and Ash Wednesday.
