Saint Matthew - September 21 - Patron Saint of Bankers, and Accountants

Matthew (called Levi in Mark and Luke) was a Jew, he worked for the Romans as a tax collector, and was disliked by much of the population. After Jesus called him, Matthew gave up everything to follow him. Matthew wrote the Gospel of Matthew during the second half of the 1st century.
